Guest posts from 3 songwriters
I think deep down all writers are envious of musicians. The ability to have vocal inflections and instrumentation at their disposal, to say nothing of the leather pants, gives them such an advantage in telling a story. It’s no wonder I have included/stolen lyrics from so many songwriters to try and bolster my own writing.
I asked many and a dozen agreed and only three were actually brave enough to send something back to me. Apparently writing is more intimidating than I thought.
It’s disappointing only because the three stories I posted were so damn good. I would have loved to see what the others would have come up with.
I hope you’ll give them a read.
“Writing isn’t about making money, getting famous, getting dates, getting laid, or making friends. In the end, it’s about enriching the lives of those who will read your work, and enriching your own life, as well. It’s about getting up, getting well, and getting over. Getting happy, okay? Getting happy.”
