Let’s get one thing perfectly clear; I am a writer.
Words are my medium.
(Although I am unclear if you’re supposed to use a ; : or . in my first sentence. Perhaps I should have said I am a bad writer.)

You want to talk words, I’m your man.
Today I’d like to talk about the word preamble.
Specifically, what the fuck is with the word preamble?
pre·am·ble /ˈprēˌamb(ə)l/ a preliminary or preparatory statement; an introduction.
pre /prē/ previous to; before.
So far so good. You can almost guess what the word amble means from this correct?
Nope.
am·ble /ˈamb(ə)l/ walk or move at a slow, relaxed pace.
There is also ‘an easy gait of a horse in which the legs on the same side of the body move together.’
So are we to believe that “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America,” commonly known as the preamble to the U.S, Constitution, is referring to what happened prior to nice stroll around the grounds?
Is there a postamble that makes some subtle changes after they had a few leisurely minutes to clear their heads? “Are we really set on the word perfect? Is ‘more better’ better because it misuses the English language? George would hate that. Is that petty? Let’s have another preamble and think about it.”
